Terms of service
Effective July 2, 2026
Plain terms for using OceanDB during early access. The service is operated by Ocean Labs ("we," used sparingly). Using OceanDB means you accept these terms. How your data is handled is in the privacy policy.
Early access, as-is
OceanDB is in early access. The service is provided as-is and as-available: it is worked on with care, but there is no warranty — features may change, and interruptions can happen. To the extent the law allows, Ocean Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service during early access.
Your content is yours
Everything you or your agent writes into OceanDB remains yours. You grant Ocean Labs only the limited license needed to run the service: to store your content, process it — including computing embeddings for search — and show it back to you and to the members of workspaces you share it with. No other rights are taken, and the license ends when your content is deleted.
Acceptable use
Use OceanDB for memory. Don't use it to store or distribute unlawful content, and don't abuse the infrastructure — no attempting to reach other accounts, disrupt the service, or work around its security or its limits.
Limits
Free accounts have generous soft limits. They exist to protect the service from abuse, not to meter your memory. If you reach one, the service says so plainly, and the limit resets.
Leaving, and termination
You can leave at any time. Export exists for exactly this reason: one click gives you your full memory as markdown and SQL, and you can then ask for deletion. Ocean Labs may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or abuses the service; unless the abuse makes it impossible, you'll get notice first, and export remains available.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the new version is posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
